There is immeasurable value in producing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your agency. Clear process documents detailing what to do and when saved in a wiki of some sort. These documents take time to create – and update – but they are vital for creating consistency and enabling founders to step out of the detail.

They are not, however, a substitute for good old fashioned training.

If you have a SOP library in your agency, congratulations. Be mindful though that these documents only teach people how to act. Training teaches people how to think.
