You simply must face into situations where you have people that are not performing to the right level.

You owe it to the rest of the team.

Most of all, you owe it to the people in question.
If they don’t know you are not happy, they can’t attempt to put things right.
If they don’t know where they are falling short they cannot improve.
They might not be happy themselves. If you don’t know, you can’t help them.
